Join us on Saturday, May 13, from 10am-12pm for World Migratory Bird Day at the new entrance to the Hungry Hollow trail system in Cedarvale Park!

Discover the wonder of migratory birds that join us every spring and celebrate their incredible journey.

This year's conservation theme is "Water: Sustaining Bird Life," raising awareness about the importance of water as a fundamental life source for our planet and all living beings on it.

Expand your awareness and knowledge of the birds who live and visit the area, as well as our connection to and responsibility for Silver Creek, a crucial site for migration, feeding, resting, and nesting.

Guided and self-directed activities:

✓ Anishinaabe Kwe Dale Cimolai will help us sense our relationship to Nibi (water),

✓ Experienced birders will help you observe and identify birds as you walk the trail,

✓ The Bird Friendly Halton Hills team will provide resources and tips on making your homes and businesses more bird-friendly and;

✓ The Halton Hills Public Library will be on site and invites you to:

  • Learn to identify different bird species and test your knowledge by playing bird bingo

  • Enjoy an environmentally themed Storywalk®

  • Receive information about the Library’s environmental resources, including Hiking the Hills Backpack Kits and Backyard Explorer kits

  • Discover and download apps to learn more about the environment around you

  • Visit the Seed Library
